DESCRIPTION
The Berco BC5 horizontal boring machine is a high performance machine designed specifically for reconditioning camshaft bearings on engine blocks. It can accommodate cylinder blocks up to 2600 mm in length, making it versatile for a wide range of engine sizes.
This model has a boring capacity of Ø 28÷225 mm with a maximum spindle travel of 430 mm. It can handle heads and blocks up to 2540 mm in length. In addition, the machine can accommodate cylinder blocks up to 2600 mm in length.
The BC5 offers twelve spindle rotation speeds: 75, 85, 115, 130, 180, 210, 280, 235, 430, 500, 680 and 800 rpm, with feed rates ranging from 0.04 to 0.08 mm/min.
The BC5 is constructed of high-strength cast iron with a high damping coefficient, ensuring stability and reduced vibration during operation. It features high performance components for rotation and feed without the unreliability of belt variators, and uses forced lubrication via a reversible pump for all gears and bearings. The drive shaft is particularly robust and is supported by three preloaded bearings that can be adjusted as required, ensuring precision and durability.
Both manual and automatic shaft rotation and feed controls are conveniently grouped on the front of the drive head for easy operator access.
Precision is ensured by the use of high quality boring bars, tool holders, rests and gauges, all manufactured to extremely tight tolerances. The lubrication system is simple and efficient, with a pump and transparent reservoir mounted on both main columns, allowing both the boring bar and bearings to be lubricated during operation.
The BC5 also comes with a variety of standard and optional accessories that increase its versatility and the quality of the finished job. These include tool setting devices, magnetic V-rests for tool setting, centering devices with dial indicators, various parallel supports for setting up engine blocks, and boring bar supports.
Other options include movable bearing facing and chamfering attachments, boring bar control attachments, boring bar extensions, various special tool holders, and a tool grinder.
