DESCRIPTION
The BERCO RAC 1500 is a camshaft grinding machine designed to ensure precise machining both in the production of new camshafts and in the reconditioning of worn ones. This machine is particularly suitable for mechanical workshops specializing in engine overhaul and repair, thanks to its ability to process camshafts of different sizes and characteristics.
The RAC 1500 is built with a monolithic cast iron base, which ensures robustness and minimizes vibrations during the grinding process. This design ensures stability and precision, essential when machining delicate camshaft surfaces. The workpiece carriage is equipped with a controlled motion system that ensures accurate positioning of the camshaft during grinding operations.
The machine has a hydraulically controlled grinding head feed system that allows automatic micrometric adjustments. This system enables deep and precise grinding, ideal for cam surface regeneration and profile modification to meet specific performance requirements. The grinding head carries a wheel with a maximum diameter of 457 mm and variable thicknesses from 20 mm to 32 mm, allowing it to adapt to different grinding requirements.
The center height on the table is 130 mm, while the maximum allowable diameter on the table reaches 260 mm, providing the capacity to work on camshafts of significant dimensions. The maximum distance between centers is 1500 mm, allowing the machining of camshafts of considerable length. In addition, the RAC 1500 can accommodate camshafts with a maximum diameter of 80 mm in the steady rests.
The control system of the machine is very advanced and includes devices for checking the straightness of the shaft and the stroke of the cam. This system ensures that each camshaft is ground with precision, maintaining dimensional tolerances within ±0.01 mm and a surface roughness not exceeding Ra 0.2 μm.
In terms of grinding operations, the BERCO RAC 1500 offers solutions for cam profiling, bearing seat grinding and end machining.
