DESCRIPTION

The Berco SPB connecting rod cap grinder is an essential machine for machining the contact surfaces of connecting rods and their caps. During the operation of an engine, connecting rods can become deformed, resulting in an ovalization of the cylinder head bore and a misalignment of the axis with respect to the connecting rod base. Under these conditions, it is not recommended to install new bushings or shells, as this would not provide an optimal contact surface.

The Berco SPB is designed to grind the contact surfaces of the connecting rods and caps, ensuring perfectly flat surfaces. This process results in a reduced head bore, which can then be rebored to the original dimension on a connecting rod boring machine. Connecting rods reconditioned in this way are as good as new, restoring functionality and reliability.

The time required to place and reface the two parts is in the order of a few minutes, making the Berco SPB an essential accessory for engine repair shops using con-rod grinders and con-rod boring machines.
