Variants of PEG orbital grinding machines
In turn, some of these models can be supplied in different variants depending on the configuration and the accessories included in the machine.
The 4 variants in which the PEG valve seat grinding machine can be supplied are:
- Standard
- Univer
- Motorized unit only
- Avio
What differentiates the various versions is precisely the provision of grinding wheels and pilots that are supplied with the machine and we can summarize it as follows:
- Standard: basic equipment of pilots and grinding wheels, dressing tool and accessories
- Univer: complete equipment of pilots and grinding wheels, dressing tool and accessories
- Motor unit only: no pilot, grinding wheel or dressing tool supplied with the machine
- Avio: particular variant for machining valve seats of engines with blind cylinders.
The Avio version is normally made on request, in accordance with the technical specifications requested by the customer.

Centring pilots, grinding wheels and grinding wheel dressing tool
As mentioned, except for the Motorized Unit Only variant, all PEG grinders are supplied with their own series of grinding wheels, centering pilots and wheel dressing dresser.
Centering pilots
The series of centering pilots is quite large and ranges from smaller diameters such as Ø 4 – 4.5 – 5 mm up to Ø 20 mm.
All the most commonly used inch versions are also available, such as Ø 7⁄32 “- 3⁄8” – 5⁄16 “up to 1⁄2”.
PEG offers its customers the opportunity to make custom-made pilots according to specific needs.

Grinding wheels
The entire range of grinding wheels that PEG has for its machines is very large, and includes diameters ranging from Ø 18 to 120 millimeters and more.
All the grinding wheels can also vary according to the abrasive grain, depending on the material to be worked.
In this case, in addition to the abrasive material, the grinding wheels differ in color and are:
- Silicon carbide – Gray
- Silicon carbide – White
- Corundum – Red
- Cubitron – Blue
