General Description
The PEG FM1 is a compact manual boring machine designed to work on valve seats with diameters between Ø 16 and 65 mm and valve seat rings between Ø 28 and 70 mm. The machine can be upgraded with an external motorized unit that allows the speed to vary between 30 and 100 RPM.
Design and Functionality
The PEG FM1 consists of a boring body with variable inclination and an electromagnetic clamping base that ensures secure attachment to the flat surface of the cylinder head engine. The machining system uses 3-angle shaped inserts, allowing it to:
- Restore the edges of the valve seat
- Remove the valve seat
- Enlarge the valve seat ring housing
The centering of the spindle on the centering pilot and the fixing of the machine are simplified by the electromagnetic support. Machining is performed manually with a hand crank, but can be automated with an optional variable speed electric motor drive.
