DESCRIPTION
The PEG 25-50 portable line boring machine is a versatile and accurate tool designed to perform the boring of cam and crankshaft housings directly on the engine block. This device is particularly suitable for on-site operations, especially on aluminum cylinder heads where camshaft housings are integrated into the casting.
Equipped with six adjustable cutting tools, the PEG 25-50 can work with bore diameters ranging from a minimum of 24 mm to a maximum of 40 mm, with a maximum stroke of 90 mm. The feed system is based on a screw that allows a precise feed of 0.05 mm per revolution, ensuring accurate machining of internal surfaces. Rotation of the boring bar is achieved using a standard hand drill, which is not included in the kit, but can be easily coupled to the bar using a hexagonal bit provided.
Stability and precise alignment of the boring bar is provided by centering bushings held in place by adjustable mounting brackets. These brackets rest directly on the top surface of the cylinder head, ensuring that the boring bar is perfectly aligned. The entire clamping system is designed to quickly adapt to a wide range of cylinder heads, making it easy to switch between units when working on similar components.
The PEG 25-50 kit is completed with an adjustment micrometer for direct reading of the cutting radius and a range of accessories including hex wrenches and replacement cutting bits. Everything you need is contained in a convenient carrying case, making it easy to transport and store.
The PEG 25-50 is particularly useful for restoring the alignment and dimensions of deformed cylinder heads and camshaft bearings. The ease of use and flexibility of the boring machine allow it to be set up and moved quickly, adapting to different cylinder head configurations without compromising the accuracy of the work performed. However, it is recommended to use the PEG 25-50 within its intended operating limits, not exceeding the specified bore diameter range to avoid damage to the unit or engine components.
