DESCRIPTION
The MIRA VGX-21 Portable Milling Machine is an advanced tool for reconditioning valve seats on gasoline and diesel engines. Thanks to its integral aluminum structure, the VGX-21 offers exceptional torsional rigidity while maintaining a compact size and weight. This feature provides a robustness comparable to larger bench machines, ensuring long-term performance and reliability.
One of the strengths of the VGX-21 is its high-precision centering system. This system is based on a spherical, rotating, and floating guide without an air cushion, which allows frictionless movement. The hydraulic ball clamping system provides additional stability, making the machine suitable for heavy-duty operations. The ultra-light suspended masses and frictionless movement provide superior precision compared to conventional machines.
The VGX-21 uses DT bayonet tool heads that allow for quick tool changes, making the machining process more efficient. The new DSD double-edged tool heads enable precise and fast valve seat cutting operations, increasing overall productivity.
Technical specifications of the VGX-21 include a valve stem diameter range of 4 to 16 mm, a valve seat milling diameter range of 16 to 75 mm, and a valve seat housing diameter range of 21 to 75 mm. The monolithic aluminum machine body is highly resistant, while alignment and centering are achieved by a spherical bearing on rings without an air cushion. The centering movement is ensured by a rotating and axial ball with hydraulic clamping, and the tool feed is controlled by a Nonius scale. The centering pilots are cylindrical and the tools have a brazed and resharpenable insert with different front relief angles.
The VGX-21 tooling system includes interchangeable tool heads with DT bayonet fittings that are easy to change and convenient for positioning the tool to size. A wide selection of multi-angle, standard, and custom tools are available directly from the manufacturer. In addition, the MIRA EM-25-75 micrometer provides quick tool setting for material removal operations on valve seats.
The VGX-21 kit includes the valve seat milling machine, a tool holder spindle with a working range of 21-45 mm, six FD steel pilots, six single or multi-angle tools, a set of service keys, a hand crank for manual use, an instruction manual, a tool and equipment catalog, and a wooden case.
