DESCRIPTION
The COMEC LBM 950 Used Horizontal Line Boring Machine is designed for the reconditioning of camshaft housing bores in cylinder heads and crankshaft housing bores in engine blocks for passenger cars and light commercial vehicles. It is engineered to perform precision line boring operations where accurate alignment, bar rigidity and controlled machining movements are essential.
The machine features an innovative chrome boring bar drive system that combines both feed and rotation into a single operating unit. Linear movement is provided by a ball bearing guide system, ensuring smooth and precise travel, while rotation is controlled by a belt-driven actuator. Both functions are powered by brushless motors, allowing accurate control throughout the machining process.
Machine operation is managed through a touch screen control panel equipped with dedicated software. The operator can manually control the boring bar, set machining parameters and execute automatic working cycles. An electronic handwheel is also provided for precise manual positioning during setup and adjustment.
The chrome boring bar is supported by three movable arms that provide high rigidity during machining. Accurate alignment of the workpiece is achieved through fine adjustment controls for both height and cross positioning, assisted by centering devices complete with dial indicators. This configuration allows precise centering of the component before machining begins.
The universal clamping system is designed to simplify the fixture of different types of cylinder heads and engine blocks, reducing setup time and facilitating workpiece positioning for a wide range of applications in engine rebuilding workshops.
The standard equipment includes a machine base with integrated storage compartment, boring bar support arms, a chrome tool holder bar with a diameter range of 24 to 85 mm and a length of 800 mm, a 50 to 85 mm tool holder ring for engine blocks, a complete line boring tooling set, two AC0093 centering devices complete with dial indicators, one AC0091 tool setting device complete with dial indicator and micrometer, and a set of cylinder head fixing bolts.
