DESCRIPTION
The used BERCO SFN crankshaft belt superfinisher is a piece of equipment designed for the finish machining of crankshaft journals after grinding.
The abrasive belt wraps around the crankshaft journal and is pressed with controlled force while the shaft is rotating, removing the surface layer deformed by grinding and bringing the surface roughness to the correct values required by the manufacturing specifications.
The process eliminates the residual peaks from grinding and creates a low-roughness surface that reduces contact friction with the main and connecting rod bearing shells, increasing engine durability.
