DESCRIPTION
The Berco ARB 500 is a high-precision boring and grinding machine designed for machining and reconditioning connecting rods, ideal for the needs of workshops specializing in engine rebuilding and repair. The structure of the machine is solid and stable, designed to withstand intensive use, while the architecture of the bedplate, with its two independent heads, one for boring and one for grinding, the Berco ARB 500 guarantees a high quality of finish even in the most complex operations.
The planetary motion of the grinding head, equipped with eccentric adjustment, allows precise positioning of the grinding wheel spindle axis on the hole to be machined, ensuring maximum accuracy.
The con rod mounting system offers three positioning methods:
- Expandable mandrels, which allow the rods to be clamped to both the base and the cylinder head;
- V-shaped bracket with shoulder striker, for quick centering;
- Plate-and-bracket mounting, which ensures parallelism between the connecting rod base and head axes, making it easier to center the bore.
For alignment, the Berco ARB 500 allows rough centering using tapered pads and fine adjustment with a dial indicator, complemented by the tool calibration device for reliable and quick positioning.
Thanks to its versatility, the Berco ARB 500 can be used not only for connecting rods, but also for machining motorcycle cylinders, small pins and bushings, with the possibility of adding an optional overcut to facilitate the positioning of more complex parts. With a bore diameter ranging from 15 to 125 mm and a grinding capacity of up to 125 mm, the machine is designed to handle a wide range of connecting rod sizes, supporting a minimum distance of 50 mm and a maximum of 500 mm.
For different operations, the Berco ARB 500 offers an adjustable boring bar rotation speed of 220, 400, 700 and 1200 rpm, while the grinding wheel can rotate at 3500, 5200 or 9250 rpm to suit specific machining requirements. The table has a maximum stroke of 420 mm and an automatic feed that ensures smooth and precise movements, also thanks to the power of the motors: 0.55 kW for the boring head and 1.1 kW for the grinding head.
The machine comes with a standard accessory kit that includes:
- Tool calibration device,
- Tie rods for clamping the spindles,
- Syringes for lubrication.
The kit also includes grinding and boring kits, complete with grinding wheels for steel and cast iron, grinding wheel heads, centering cones, carbide tools and service wrenches.
