DESCRIPTION
The Berco APM 100 Cylinder Boring Machine is a highly specialized machine designed for reconditioning finned cylinder assemblies on motorcycles, air compressors, small generator sets, and other similar applications.
Cylinder placement is facilitated by a number of features such as parallel shims, counter shims, and V-shaped plates that ensure precise alignment. Clamping is achieved by means of two height and width adjustable levers, simultaneously controlled by a handwheel, ensuring fast and secure clamping. Centering of the cylinder assemblies is precise and fast thanks to three expandable, thermally hardened probe tips mounted directly on the tool head.
Spindle shaft movement can be controlled manually via a handwheel or automatically. The manual mode allows quick control in both directions, while the automatic mode includes an adjustable end stop on a graduated rod. Machining quality and precision are ensured by the high rigidity of the alloyed, heat-hardened steel spindle headstock and a simple but highly reliable off-machine tool calibration system.
The Berco APM 100 is available in two versions: the APM 100 benchtop version and the APM 100C complete with a column cabinet and tool compartment. The machine is supplied with a standard kit that includes a tool holder extractor, a tool measuring device with micrometer, a pair of parallel shims, counter shims, plates, brackets and screws, a diamond grinding wheel, a tool sharpening jig, a set of service wrenches, and a wooden box with tools, tool holders, and ferrules.
The technical specifications of the Berco APM 100 include a variable bore diameter from 36 to 100 mm, a maximum bore depth of 220 mm, and a distance between the column guides and the spindle axis of 130 mm. The spindle speed ranges from 200 to 400 rpm, with a spindle feed rate of 0.076 mm per revolution and a spindle motor power of 0.22 kW.
